Knights of Columbus
Sgt. John Basilone Council #13264
A Charitable organization is born February 6, 1882, New Haven CT. The need of immigrants and families suffering from the death of the breadwinner led Father Michael J. McGivney, pastor of St. Mary’s Church, to respond by founding the Knights of Columbus, a fraternal benefits society that has grown into a worldwide financial and charitable organization. Today there are over 1.8 million Knights supporting over 12,000 councils in 12 countries. Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism are the Order’s 4 principles serving the Catholic Church, the Priesthood, and community.
Our Council was formed in 2003 by 30 men of St. Ann’s Parish. Since then we have tripled in membership and are known as one of the most active councils. Knights are involved in activities and programs throughout the year supporting the parish and the surrounding community. Each Knight participates in our activities at whatever level of commitment he can comfortably give. New members are always welcomed.
In 2019 the Knights of Columbus Worldwide donated $187.6 million dollars and volunteered 77 million hours
