Please call the Rectory Office regarding sick and shut-ins. Often we will not know about someone's condition or location unless a family member or friend contacts us.
Anointing of the Sick is a Sacrament of Healing that invokes the power of Holy Spirit. We trust in the love and mercy of God and open our hearts to however the Lord wants to work in our lives. We pray for healing in mind, body and spirit.
This sacrament, sometimes the last sacrament, extends several graces which help to strengthen with the Holy Spirit against anxiety and discouragement and conveys peace and fortitude. James stated, "Anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; (Jas. 5:14–15).
The sick should be anointed as soon as they are seriously ill, not waiting until the last moments of life.
